THE MAKING OF FEAR OF THE DARK

Behind the Scenes

Light & Dark's Behind the Scenes Pictures & Movie Stills

Fear of the Dark (copyright 2000) follows a woman's spiral into insanity.  Alice stumbled upon the murder of her parents during a blackout when she was a child.  Now, years later, she suffers from achluophobia - fear of the dark.  It is the anniversary of her parents' death and a murderer is on the loose.  Could it be that the serial killer from years before has come back to claim the one victim that escaped?

Detective Bagadonis (Joe Baxter) is in for a big surprise when he pops the trunk.  Danielle Russo's makeup was less painful going on than it was coming off.

Anthony makes up Paul Cooper as one of the Black Rose Killer's victims.  Sergeant Harris (Stephen Bronzo), a Detective (Walter Eikner), and the Photographer (Stephen Webber) stake out the crime scene while a Jogger (Connie Eikner) is being questioned by Detective Joey Bagadonis (Joseph Baxter).

Brian Goldstein makes a cameo in a newspaper article as a suspect in the serial killings.  His character name Ted Gasey is taken from the serial killers Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gasey.

Matt Cavaliere is just one of 4 people to don the killer costume but only the true identity of the killer will be revealed in the movie's stunning climax.  Young Alice Walker meets the killer for the first time.

Alice (Rosemary Gore) meets Roger (Michael Scarpelli, Jr.) in the Park.  Later, the killer (this time played by Mark Yonick) pays a visit to Roger's house.  Roger's wife (Victoria Miner) and Roger's daughter (Mariah & Yakira Nichols) have a run in with the killer.  Director Glen Baisley prepares to shoot the scene.

After Alice gets spooked by Karen (Vanessa Edwards), it's time to have a sit down.

You know it's time to see a shrink (Herb Smithline) when you start smashing mice and seeing your dead mother waving to you at the park.

Alice flees from the killer.  Below is a group shot of the bar patrons.  Michael (Mike Lane) meets Janice (Danielle Russo) at the bar and they go back to her place.  Haven't they seen a Friday the 13th movie?  Everyone knows sex kills?  The long awaited picture of upcoming, sexy scream queen, Danielle Russo as she takes a break in between takes and hangs out with killer co-star, Mark Yonick.

Scenes from the shoot at Maher Funeral Home.  Reporter Saxon Henry from the NY Times was present to do a story about me.  A friend of the deceased (Brian Green) holds back a grief stricken and angry Peter Jacobs (Richard Redmond).

Miscellaneous pictures leading up to the movie's climax.  I snapped the last picture while waiting to be interviewed for News 12 Westchester's Labor Day show.

A tribute to Alfred Hitchcock's Pyscho.
